SHOUT OUT TO MY CREW THE DISLEXIC CREW,I CANT COUNT TO 4 IM A RAVER
it really does upset me when i listen to an old set an think all of these tunes you'll never hear in a rave ever again, its ok listenin too a tune at home but its not the same as blasted out in a rave :whoops:
UNDERGROUND SOUND
i think simplicity played a big part in the sound. simple but effective melodies, coupled with tough drum and percussion patterns. i think the fact that alot of producers at the time were working within the limitations of there equipment also shaped the character of alot of records.
also, what made those old sets exciting for me was the diversity...how one tune would perfectly compliment the next (which is partly down to the dj of course) but its more than that. the tunes were completely different but at the same time kept a feeling of continuity and momentum.
