philippe is a spot on bloke there's no doubt about that. he knows how to use the promotion game and i'm sure that pic served it purpose somewhere. but come on the issue is not whether a thinks he is an ass or b thinks he's cool, it's surely steve's first post - the overuse of headphones.

personally i have never done this on press shoots, cause i too think it's a little cheesy. but i suppose if you have a flyer to design for a big club night, you're going to love having a pic of the main dj wearing his headphones looking cool. it's gonna sell the night.

i mean i see what steve's saying here, a little bit more experimental and clever is the way to go, but that's totally personal preference. interesting topic but let's steer clear of just having digs at certain shots eh?????

lets not take this the wrong way now everyone, no need to call the guy an arsehole at all whoever it was who did that, i here nothing but the nicest words spoken of Phillipe and rightly so, his music may not be to everyones tastes but thats irrelevant when it comes to the person involved.

No one is above a bit of ribbing though, and that pic is genuinly hilariously over pretentious.

Ascend wasn`t preaches label. It belonged to Jean-Michel from Montreal. Who also owned Consigned, and a few other labels under the Ascend Music Group.

Preaches label is called Relics, I believe.
And I was never signed to it.

Also, I`ve got no beef with Phillipe, he`s a lovely bloke.
He just happens to have had some aweful promo shots taken.

This is a ridiculous photo, but philip is a really nice lad, for someone playing on the level he is playing, he`s surprisingly un-egotsitic.
But, that`s still a terrible photo.
