well thanks for that you guys. i really want to do this type of thing more often. it's a real nice challenge going out of your comfort zone in a club environment - i think when you get comfy with a way of getting ppl going, you tend to stick to it slightly - you don't want to let ppl down - especially if ppl are paying good money to hear you play.

hhhmm.. wouldn't mind doing an acid house mix actually. i think that's next on the list. ahhhh armando here we come hehhe

I don't get it ! what is alternative about this set?

Its a cracking set , I absolutely love it. Its totally my kind of thing. I have not had the chance to hear any of Marks sets for a few years, this just reminds me of what I have been missing. Thanks Mark

Mark, this is probably the best set I've heard you play for years.

Seriously, you need to play like this more. :)

well i would really like to actually, i find it very hard in the uk however to experiment as much as i would like to, cause you tend to find alot of ppl over here who come ot see me play have this 'hard' mentality about techno. i mean, nothing wrong with that, it's my own doing for playing hard stuff so much over here. actually it's a problem everywhere if i'm being honest. if you ask any artist who gets booked regularly across the world i'm sure they will say the same thing. i think it's about trying to push yourself as much as possible but still not alienating your crowd and i find that VERY hard to do when the crowd is of a hard mentality. i mean, even though this set is slightly different for me over here, you can still see i had to really keep it driving to a certain extent. so therefore, i still compromised, and as a DJ i think you're forced to do that.

well in the end it's all good, i'm not moaning at all, i'm just pointing out the realities being a DJ i think. as long as i keep that ethos of trying to be different and push things forward in whatever music i'm doing, i am happy. i'll get the odd set that challenges me to crazy levels, but it would be so nice if i could do a set a week that was totally out of my comfort zone though.

thanks for the great comment anyway you guys. :cheese:

Quality set mate. Love the intro, not over keen on the electro part but soon picks up. I love what you did with the Marc Houle track, it fits perfectly over that percussive track, then drops in with it's own bassline later. Nice!
What is the last track, the really industrial sounding distorted effort? Reminded me of the old Manu le Malin mixes from years ago. ID??

    Overall a wicked set Mark!
