    Default Editors

their new album is released this week, the single 'smokers outside the hospital doors' is doin the rounds at the moment, i've only heard it a few times, need to give it a proper listen but seems like a good track...

i bought the Editors first album when it was released a couple of years ago, one of my faves of recent years...

anyone else here into them? don't think i've seen anyone mention them before...

i like them, but they're basically a ripoff of kitchens of distinction/chameleons/joy division, and interpol has already ripped off those very same bands. of course, editors are doing it much better than interpol these days, so...

Never heard of them, but if they sound like kitchens of Distinction and Joy Division, I'm interested.

you should check them out snooch, their debut album 'The Back Room' is quality, must have listened to it a hundred times and that's no exaggeration, there's a line in the third track, 'if there's hope in your heart, it will flow to every part', i was in a grim situation around a year ago that i thought i couldn't escape and that line alone pretty much got me through the s**t...

to be fair they're much better than Interpol, don't feel the comparison is justified really, they do sound reminiscent of Joy Division (one of my favourite bands ever) but that's not a bad thing...

    Interpol are ****ing awful

Editors however are total class. They have a real depth and honesty to their music, they are still quite young and yet show a maturity beyond alot of their peers. "The Back Room" is one immense album and i cant wait for the new one, "Smokers outside the hospital doors" is a quality track

    now they are.

turn on the bright lights, their first, is a great album, though it's highly derivative of the bands i mentioned above.

editors are also ok, but they are derivative too.

neither has anything on joy division or chameleons

of course not, but i try not to compare people with people they are obviously influenced by greatly. If i did that, i probably wouldnt get past listening to anything other than The Beatles

this second is a lot like the first, a few tracks jumped out at me which is a good sign, and there definitaly isn't a bad track on there unlike the Bloc Party album which contains a few 'skippers'...
