Default Boys, School Showers and Swimming Pools...

...No, I'm not a pervert ( :ohdear: ) I've just heard Surgeon's "Boys, School Showers & Swimming Pools" for the first time. Is there anything else like this that I can check out? Just really dark and fu*ked up. I've already listended to the "Cubs Do Your Best!" release on Downwards as well, so anything in this style.

"boys..." is i guess kind of a la musique concrete style, basically a collage made of surgeon's early field recordings. there are plenty of bands and artists who did things that way (and still do), i don't know where to start from. maybe you should check out who influenced surgeon, since you can definitely hear the influence, especially in that record.

Can someone tell me if all the 7" releases on Downwards are in this style? Becuase there's 6 of those for me to try and find clips for.

they have a nice little 24/7 net radio stream, you can hear a lot of really good forward-thinking, emo, dark, light, gay, nice, experimental, noiseimental, elemental independent music there.
