Default Time to start givin a little back....

Right, after months of downloading some of the best sets that I ever heard in my youth, I thought I'd start giving a little back in return.

Since my computer decided to blow up last week, I havent been able to link a tape deck up to it yet to copy my old tapes. However I have just brought a 'Drome re-union" cd by DJ Trix & MC Cyanide. This double-team are legendary in these parts, and I just thought I'd give you a little peice of the pie.

Trix was a World DMC champion in the late 80's early 90's, and is an incredible DJ. He can mix absolutely any form of dance music, and this set - as an 'old skool flava' set is littered with early-mid 90's classics, with a little bit of bouncy hardcore thrown in aswell.

Cyanide is a wicked MC. He appears on one of the Mark EG Dreamscape sets that are posted on this site - either 31, 32 or 33. He may not be to some of your tastes, possibly if I hadn't have grown up listening to him he wouldnt be my cup of tea eitehr, but his rhyming is legendary around here.... on this night everybody in the crowd was singing along to 'sawn off shotgun' 'we aint goin out like that' and all the rest.

This CD is split up ionto tracks, so if anyone would be grateful to direct me as to how I can upload these all at once instead of uploading 20 tracks and you lot having to downloaded 20 tracks that would be much appreciated.

If you are using nero for burning, it has a tool called soundtrax.
open it and go to Insert/audio file and it opens a search window.
just keep doing the same until you have the whole album up. you can overlap the files for a primitive mix..........play with it, it's easy to pick up. then save the whole thing, save as a wav not an mp3 as it converts to 80kbs. if you save it as a wav, you can convert it to mp3 afterwards.

    hope this helps...............ed

They are there as 20 seperate tracks, is there any way I can join them in a file or something???

Will a .zip file do this??? Can somebody tell a Mac man how to make a zip please!!!

God I feel like a dinosaur doing this!!!

There must be software for a mac will do the same (prob cost £100).
zipping might solve the problem as it turns the tracks into a single file. trouble is, it would still be over 600mb and would take ages to upload and download.
mediafire only allow up to 100mb per file.
I don't really know about macs (got nicked for wearing a dirty one once).
maybe one of our new friends can help............all the best.........ed

From a fellow mac man to another...

i join my tunes using a program called iTunesJoin which i downloaded from the apple website a few months ago. it's only a 30-day trial to start with but u can buy it for just a tenner! it joins all tracks you've highlighted together into 1 longer track, eg. side 1 & 2 of a set into 1 track... as far as i know it's only available for mac & it'll appear in the drop down menu for iTunes as a script logo. Works great for me!

i think it was somewhere in the audio downloads section of the apple website, or you can search for iTunesJoin within downloads.

    Hope this helps

how will it be over 600mb?? each track shouldnt be any more than 10mb when a decent quality. Just adjust the bit rate down until it fits to under 100mb??

Well thats on a pc, dont have a scooby about macs.

And can u not create .zip files the same way on a mac as a pc.

Cheers mate, that sounds very useful for the future!!!

My iMac suffered an 'accidental powersurge' last week so im gonna get myself a nice new Macbook pro, courtesy of my lovely insurance company.

Im just uploading this set now, should be about half an hour boys.

Before I upload.... Ive had my wrists slapped before for posting "raindrops- Hitchiker & Dumondt".... apparently this is illegal as it is file-sharing. Im not gonna get shouted at for this am I coz the tracks are all seperate???

    As long as its a mixed cd it should be alright. Just full single tunes are a no-no as its a breach of copyright :;
