RIP ACID TECNO
this topic is burnt out......
It aint - i disagree totally. the new stuff aint bad at all, the labels need to sign more unknown names or change there production techniques.
they should try luring 'industrial hardcore' producers into the genre... that way, you will lose the stereotypical 'loops' and then have a creative music track that could be played on its own at home and be a journey from beginning to end of different soundscapes rather than a sad old loop with a couple of stars wars laser sounds
Yeah, I was about to start a thread saying that acid techno is dead. After all, we hadn't had one for two whole weeks.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts - Bertrand Russell.
It smells of hammers.
Its all about the ointment......
...and has more genes in common with a crab than a human.
Its all about the ointment......
the thing is acid techno needs more of a trancey element like the early tunes and a more of a spacey weird sound
Acid Techno ain't dead as long as existing in our minds & you can find the people who still lovin it.
was meant to add this at the end :;
Be Lucky!
it aint dead... it aint even sleeping.
just because a bunch of us here dont like the odd release doesnt mean jack shit..
people are still 'avin it to acid all over the place... so somebody somewhere must be doing something right!!
im not moaning about any of the releases, every release these days is fantastic, however there seems to be getting less and less of it
yes you are right dude. our passion for it will never diminish and those folk who like a good party - know what time it is.
however i terms of techno in general acid included, i despair.
i mean the other day on raidon one there was a four hour drum n bass special. every aspect of dance seems to be catered for on commercial radio except techno.
it's like techno is being dleiberately been kept away from mainstream audiences or something. im sick of it.
i wouldt call my self a acid dj anymore, do still play a wedge of london techno / acid though. im more open to techno as a entire genre nowerdays, time and a place for it all. (apart from the latest suf!)
same here,it seems that when an underground music genre goes into mainstream music charts,it soon gets killed off. Cos when you get 12 year olds throwing shapes in their bedrooms,it looses its mojo. I'm not saying that kids shouldn't like acid, naah f*ck it,yes I am :grr:
i aint bought any acid/london techno for a while now, loving the european funky tribal edged techno sound at the moment, however i downloaded a recent paul cortex set which i thought was rather good!!
