Okay, I wrote this quite a while ago but haven't really let it see the light of day - I've been playing it in my sets and it's been going down well but I thought I should get you lot to pass comment on it, as you're bound to be more objective.

Got the vocal samples from an old Kilamanjaro reggae soundclash tape, thought it had a bit of a Highwire feel to it, what do you guys think?

Have only listened to this on the shittest speaker ever at work so can't comment on production... at all

Has got a Hirewire flavour about it with a nice warm friendly acid line. Kept wantin to say,'....leads the way' after the vocal...:cheese:

I like the structure coz you do begin to think that it's just going to noodle away to itself and then it sets off on the acid builder tip... this works well n will please the dancefloor, as you've noticed...

Is this aimed towards a 'Live' act that you do or are you looking to release at all?

As a playin out tool it certainly will prove usefull...

Thanks for the comments, it was written for release purposes i guess, the stuff i do for live is contained within ableton and has never been bounced - does it need any more work or should i gather the courage to send it off?

good tune mate. not exactly my style but the tune works very well. production wise..everything seems well structured and balanced. maybe some sidechain compression on the basssline would squeeze it under the kick a bit more.

great homage to acid anyway ;) i think i can hear 3 acid lines there

Listened to it at home n its all sounding clear... nice warmth on the acid

I would just tweak a bit more sparkle into the top end for preference...

Also give the bottom end a bit more of a push to see how much you can get out of it - be bold, I'm sure there is more to be had...

I was hoping we`d not seen the last of you with that first acid release.
What have you been up ta?

As for the tune, nice bit of acid with a Underworld-ish feel to it.

I wouldn`t send this out just yet mate, I reckon you can touch it up a fair bit to get it ultra pro, which I know you are more than capable of.

Have you changed your studio set up, or monitor placement since the last stuff I heard back when you did your Acid label release?

There seems to be some issues in the bottom end, especially around the high bass and ever dangerouse 200hz area. There`s a real lack of clarity from about 200 down to 80 which I think needs adressing.
The top end "nose" of the kick should be roughly balanced to the level in temrs of DB and frequency emphasis as the hats to keep the groove balance going, and it isn`t at the mo.

Bloody hell, just got to the bit where the acid all really screams, what happened to tunes that did this ey?

Also the top end feels a little too thin and really floats out of the mix later on.

My advice.
Dig back into the bottom end.
I`d give a little more oomph to the kick somewhere around 75-85hz
And then again a little boost to the nose in the top end try a little boost somwhere between 3500-4500, post compression. Sounds odd but it will get that kick cutting through, and will match it to the hats.

I`d pull back the 200hz region from anything in the bottom end except the kick. A fairly sharp Q (but not too sharp) setting and 2 or 3db cut will do the trick.

And yeah, maybe a little more ratio on the sidechain compression for the bass (if you are using any), and pull back 75-85 on the bass to let the kick through.

The main 909 stuff in the top end just needs more presence. I`d say a little more top on the open hat (or a stronger low cut, and more volume added). Maybe a touch of stereo spread and some verb.
Or you can go down another route and route you main top end stuff to a bus, give it a touch of bitcrush for a smidge of harshness, and a touch of compression.
For acid I`d be more inclined to go the EQ route than the FX route.

all the rest should sit fine after that.

Nice screaming acid mate. And the vocal really works well, gives it that little epic touch.

This is wicked. So much stuff going on, properly draws you in.

Kick gets a little muffled under the weight of the bassline, and the top acid line seems to take up the space where the high end needs to live.

Not got much to add over DB's comments - this is wicked, the progression and development is fantastic, and the interplay between the three acid lines is just rude. I bet this kills when played live!

not my cup of tea, but the track is quite nice. i like al these acidic lines and also the reverbed snippets sounds good. arrangement is nice aswell.
production needs some work, imo. kick in the begining is bit boomy on my speakers and when the bassline kicks init gets bit muddy and kick suddenly lacks punch,. eq + sidechain should help.
other than that, i enjoyed the listen. good work.

ello slink. tracks sounding big mate. refreshing to hear a acid track that isnt trying to emulate a acid track (if that even makes sence)
