Default Advice on sound card and MIDI controller ?!?

    1. Can someone recommend some good sound card, not too much expensive, but not some crap either...something in between :) I`m gonna use it for production, as well as live shows( Ableton Live or Torq or any other program for live that supports MIDI controllers)???

    2. Also would like to get myself a nice MIDI controller, and decided to choose between Evolution uc-33 or Behringer BCF 2000, and would like to know some major differences between these two, and which one is better for Live shows (meaning won`t use it much for production as for live shows)??

    Thanks

    1. http://www.dv247.com/invt/9473/ or http://www.dv247.com/invt/30207/ if you want to spend more you might be better off with a desk with integrated output/input ESP if you want to add hardware synths later.

    2. uc33e has more knobs but is out of production, the behringer has motorised faders and is widely used.

horses for courses, i dont think youll find much difference other than individual user experiences. better off looking at the user forums for each one, then you'll start seeing issues with each device.

Thank you for reply, but was looking for maybe some better audio interfaces, like m-audio fast track pro or audiophile USB or e-mu 0404 USB?? What do you think of them?

I've got this http://www.dv247.com/invt/36008/ and with the driver updates can't recommend it enough, it sounds amazing. NI have also been making some noise about a similar unit specifically for djijng which looks cool http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=audio8dj.

Does look too bad that NI one.

AS for the other cards, m-audio have got a decent reputation and offer good value for money - not sure about the EMU one as i tend to steer clear of creative stuff although i have been tempted by the EMU-X

I have got pcmcia E-MU 1212M and cant complain. there are same converters as those that are found in digidesigns HD 192 I/O interface. it gives you nice 120dB dynamic range and 120dB SNR.
The only thing is that 1212M is PCMCIa so you will need to buy an external dock or take e-mu 1616, but thats bit more expensive.

I was thinking of buying one of these two. Any advice?

Both come with Traktor presets and drivers, the Behrenger one has more functions and looks cooler (am so superficial) but the Numark one gets a lot of good reviews.

Anyone heard anything good/bad about them?

So, working links would have helped, right?

I'm looking at the Behringer BCD3000 or the Numark Total Control.

    Anyone heard anything about them?

failing that, the faderfox controllers look pretty good as well. and there small which is good for portability,

Yeah, Faderfox are pretty cool, but look very small and plasticky. A bit fiddly maybe. Not for big man's hands ;-)
Will keep poking around and have a look. Gonna take me forever to save up anyway, so no hurry!
