    Default Dig out your classics!

This week, I have mostly been listening to these...

    1) Rowland The Bastard - Freakshow - Abstraction Records

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/392592

This wouldn't have sounded out of place on Smitten in my opinion. Creepy voodoo sounding drum loops and fat acid. Nice!

    2) Chris Liberator & The Geezer - Face The Speaker - Amnesia

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/242841

The one and only release on this label (as far as I know), and although both sides are spot on, Chris & Guy's side smacks it. High quality, frantic acid trance with a superb "Face the speaker" vocal, and leading up to and into the break, the 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown sample.

    3) Arkatek - Wade - Skyride Records

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/211128

An often overlooked label, but there's been some solid releases on Skyride. Really simple track, and simple acid line three quaters of the way through. Pretty pacey track as well.

    4) Cygnus X - Hypermetrical (Secret Knowledge's erupting bishop mix) - Eye Q

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/351678

Nice acid trance track from Kris Needs and the Drummer. I didn't realise until recently just how many remixes of tracks these guys did, and how many diferent genre types.

    5) Balloonheads - You Like This? - Ballonheads

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/52985

Ignore the low Discogs rating, this track (well both sides actually) rocks like fu*k. Really uplifting in places, dark in others. If you liked the other Balloonheads releases on Smitten, and their own label, you need this!

    6) Lab 4 - CE1 - Choci's Chewns

    Discogs Link: http://www.discogs.com/release/244846

Stadium sized acid techno sounds from Lab 4. This will always remind me of Ramos playing at Dreamscape 27 in the main arena at The Bath & West Showground, and the whole arena, normally a hardcore and D&B one, was utterly jam packed and seriously rocking. I think he also played Chris Lib, Drummer & Choci's "Welcome To A New World" on Choci's Chewns as well. Also a class track!

i've been listening to some old stuff as well the past few evenings in particularly:

    The Weathermen - Domination/Pressure Cell (Boscaland 30)

    OS2 & Underground Cyber Movement - Vibrate : Liberator Remix (Boscaland 37)

    Rebel Yelle - Mizbehavinit/Glass Ball (SUF 12)

    Secret Hero - Multiform/Speedfreak (SUF 26)

DDR - Analog Retention (SUF 21)

    Diva - Cobalt/Greaseball (Red Weed 11)

Dark Lites - Divisible Beats (Red Weed 7)

GyRo - Fever EP (Noom UK 7)

Cores - Matubu EP (Noom 18)

Bringing back some lush memories of parties back in the day, am playing a party this weekend and thinking an old school acid set as well as a normal new stuff one might well be in order :)

That balloonheads track your on about si was a firm favourite of mine as was the amnesia job - will rush off to dig them out in a bit

    MAGNUM FORCE - 44 CALIBRE

One of the most beautiful electronic tunes I 've ever heard. Just thinking of it makes me segregate loads of endorphines.
