    Default Overrated DJs

now this will bring on some negativity just wondered peoples thoughts

there are a few DJs who I think are exceptionally overrated - I wondered what you all thought and care to name names?

I rate a DJ on tune selection more than mixing so the following has bias:

Matt Hardwich managed to bore myself and a wide variety of clubbers at a night in devon making us all stand there wondering "What?!?!?". Anne Savage is one who I think is extremely poor - though she did play some uberdruck stuff when I last saw her. I will also admit i'm not Ben Eye's biggest fan - i've only seen him a few times though and his tune selection did not grab me in the slightest. I do realise not everyone will agree with these comments but am giving my opinion.

Not like you to be negative about anything loukas!!

A dj who mixing is not of a very high standard is uberdruck,he's a great producer but when I saw him at academy last month he was very poor technically.

the only time i get bored is when dj's 'overmix' tracks and loose the energy of them. for under-rated dj's i would go with dolphin or the producer. or m-zone even, when ppl dont know him.

fair play french og but i find other djs who play similar to ben eye more interesting and i know he has a wide variety of fans just stating my opinion.

i will list djs who i think are underrated in a moment and didnt intend this to be a slagging match just wanted peoples opinions.

pearcey im inclined to agree about uberdruck but thats only because the first time i saw him he played an amazing set and the second and third and forth time was basically that same set again with only 1 or two new tunes.

tune selection is what its all about to me.

tune selection is what its all about to me.
so to you, it doesnt matter if a dj is pulling off mixes that are double beated to f__k, aslong as the tunes float your boat, that makes him a good dj???

    actually, yeah

i'd rather listen to the worlds most incapble dj of beatmatching playing all the best tracks then mr perfect playing tunes that are so shite it defies all belief.

though there are djs that get both tune selection and mixing right and sound amazing :)

I don't really know Ben Eye that well enough to judge...

Last time I saw him play was at the grove... he played similar stuff to what I play... his mixing was good in places but I think the grove setup was giving him trouble.

He must be pretty good to get where he is, but I've heard a lot of bad things about him though.

you really need to see ben for your self, iv followed him since he first started at the country club, week in week out this bloke smashed the floor to pieces with tunes no one had even had a sniff of, not only that he played weekly 6 till 8 in the morning which is another job on its own.. nowadays i think he has to be one of the most upfront hard t djs there is in the uk playing test presses and cds that in some cases nobody else has, not even the bigger djs . beside that ben and his studio partner log one have been developing there own tunes over the past year, creating there own sound and style which is prooving to be a massive succsess. ben is one of my main residents and is booked on a monthly basis for diversity and trilogy you can allways garantee crowd satisfaction, if any body hasnt heard beneye and is curious then listen to him for your self, up and coming events will be soon listed on the forums cheers tomo
