Hang on a minute... He had a pain killing injection 3 weeks ago vs Chelsea and the only reason Benitez has rested him since is cus they have had easy games vs Sunderland and Derby. If they were games vs Arsenal and Man Utd Gerrard woud of certainly of played.

Gerrard is playing and its good to see he is passionate to play for his country. There are not other options for England that are in the same class as Gerrard.

Apparantly he has had full training now and is playing without a injection anyway!!!!

it's pathetic that he could do himself a long term injury and then Liverpool have to foot the bill of his recovery and time out of action which has many direct and indirect effects

why do england expect players to be called at will, yet do not repay all the damage which is caused through it...

it's a pathetic team and boring to watch and means nothing any more. there is no unity in the nation and the only people who give a damn about england are those outside of the premiership who support tiny teams like rotherham.

definitely, especially after his immaturity earlier on in his career. he is turning into a wonderful player now and Liverpool's passing game is becoming most enjoyable to watch.

for those who say playing for your country is more important....

erm... you can't play for your country unless you give your all for your club and your talent shines through..

playing for the country is an additional bonus on top of the bread and butter of who pays your wages... not the prime goal!
