Well, here we are at number 005 and what a ****ing treat we have in store for you. Having been promising this artist, producer, remix and general pretty man about town, it gives us great pleasure to give our showcase section to the one and only Si Begg.

Have a bio:

Simon Begg, wonky techno DJ and record producer, was born in Leicester in 1972, grew up in Leamington Spa and moved to London in 1991. Begg had an interest in unusual music from an early age and was introduced to early Chicago acid through listening to John Peel, after which he moved from playing guitar and drums to pick up on the more electronic side of music and soon an interest in electronica, leading him into artists such as Warp's LFO.

Begg has been a solo artist recording professionally since 1993 gaining experience through engineering live sound and studio engineering. He also runs two record labels, Mosquito which he co-runs with techno artist Cristian Vogel and Noodles which he runs by himself.

Begg has recorded three albums to date as well as many 12's and remixes, working under different pseudonyms such as: Buckfunk 3000, Cabbage Boy, Bigfoot, Dr Nowhere vs The Maverick DJ, and S.I. Futures. This work tends to be very experimental and not easily pigeon-holed.

Not content with just being a recording artist he also performs live and has been DJing in the U.K and Europe, playing at well known clubs, such as the Tresor club in Berlin, the Blue Note, etc.

His productions are constantly getting plays on all the major stations, including Mary Anne Hobbs for BBC Radio 1.

His latest EP has just been released and features remixes from Crystal Distortion (as played played by the lovely J Cunning on Kiss FM), Stefane Vera and Ill Gates (aka Dylan the Phat Conductor), Kid Carpet, Kirk (as played by the also lovely Mary Anne Hobbs), Si Begg (of course), Mauin and Mix Mup
