Cant comment on HW synths as I have never worked with them seriously.
Lately I am thinking about buying one, but nowadays it is quite hard to decide as there is moremachines I like. Studio Electronics SE-1X or Moog Little Phatty are the ones I am quite impressed with.
Not too much into Virus sound. but TI sounds excellent, though.
