Tascam X9 or Pioneer DJM600?

Hi, currently in the market for a new mixer, initially looked at the DJM600 but cant decide whether to go for the X9 now, anyone used the X9? Ive heard the X9 has had problems with EQ delay, effects not beat synced, poor sound quality and fader start not compaitable with pioneer CDJ's (i own a CDJ800).

the eq has got a dealy which is pants, the fx are can be sync'd though, and the sound quality isnt crap, it just sounds really digital.... if i was u i would go for the allen and heath x:one32... much better mixer than these two put together imo ;)

with regards to sounding digital you mean it lacks warmth, the same as producing music through software compared to hardware?

yeah mate... we had an X9 plugged in at our local record shop chunes, took it out and replaced it with an allen and heath and the difference was mental, the allen was ten times as warm! - i dont really like the X9 tbh... i'd have a think before spending that amount of money on it. :)

i know what you mean with the A&H mixers; my bro owns the xone 32 which i use on regular basis and i'm very impressed with the quality but was after something with more features.......

I'd rather have a mixer that sounds awesome than a shed load of gimmicks & shit. Go for the A&H mate... ;)

so no recomendations for the DJM600? i appreciate the better sound quality of the A&H mixers compared to pioneer but i dont feel this can be fully realised in a home set-up. Is there any decent multi effects units that you can use with the A&H mixers, not keen on the kaos pad or alesi units..

its got an aux send and return so you could plug any fx unit you wanted into it, even run it through your pc and use some effects which are on your pc :)

I didnt have a problem dealing with the EQ delay on the X9, just swap it over a beat early....works fines....as for the effects, they're brilliant!! The delay is wicked and the flange is insane! :clap: I really liked mixing on it.

The Allen x:one 32 is the one with the single flange fader, its a good mixer but the gains are a cunt, the x:one 62 on the other hand is a fecking quality mixer and I love caining those separate channel flange rotarys!! :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

DJM is not my type of mixer, rotarys are too chunky and the overall feel is not that nice....

In my opinion go for the Allen x:one62....quality all round. :clap:

yeah the 32 is the small one with gay gains and single vcf and the 62 is the double rotary vcf and then there the 262 which is the 62 with 4 extra channels... :clap:

Ive got the x9 but i would still say the allen & heath is the don of mixers.
The effects on the x9 are amazing for techno, its certainly the best mixer for effects as there is soo much you can do with them. The main grumble for me is that the rotery controls for bass ect have a slight delay when you turn them which is a pain in the arse. I only paid £500 for mine secondhand so it was worth it. Get the allen & heath xone 62, i would if i was buying a mixer again. ;)

why does no one ever mention the top end vestax mixers

have ya seen the quality of mixer on the pmc55?
its the ****ing bollox. sound quality is amazing, ok it dont have any sound effects but its a solid mixer that could be canned for years with problems.

yeah i have been pretty impressed with vestax, a mate has one of the mid range mixers and even that was pretty well built and the eq quality was good.

fair play to everyone saying the alen and heath is better, but back to the question asked ...

i've used both the mixers in question and they are both really good. the x9 does have double the features (2 samplers and 2 banks of effects) but htis is reflected in the price.

i have had a djm600 for a year and a half or so, but would probably go for an x9 if i was starting again because of the double effects possibilities.

really tempted by the X9 as i heard the effects are awsome, but the delay in the EQ really puts me off, as well as the sound quality. i had decided to go for the xone 92 but at £1,000 its seems a bit much for a home mixer, so that leaves the djm600 or xone 32 - sound quality or function?
