yeah this is annoying me alot. a hell of alot actually. i need more hard trance that isn't totally uplifting but isn't hardstyle. it's proving to be a real nightmare. i think we're all having a nightmare actually. i think i'm going to have to go for a trip to germany and just go searching through the racks. either that or spend hours waiting for mp3's to download only to hear that they go off on a totally cheese fest half way through.

there is good stuff out there. sam punk is by far my fave producer at the mo. but it's harder than ever to find good shit and tbh the recent brain wasn't all that.. this is a very difficult time i reckon but that makes it even better when you find the stuff.

Im actually really liking some of the hard trance at the moment.
I found some wicked white labels, real uplifting but still have a monster beat.
But i do also think the older trance is good, like the fog tracks etc..

yeah totally hit the nail on the head here. Hard trance is splitting in to either too uplifting or too hard style sounding. Where's the original hard trance sound going?

there's a clear different in the tracks these days...

I think producers are just looking to change, do something new with hard trance.

maybe your right but i cant help feeling that the overall quality of some of th older stuff hasnt been beaten, not that i want them to continue to produce copies of what has been and gone, i just want the originality to return, it seems to me that hard trance has got a lot harder but also simplified itself, not all of it but enough for me to notice it.

perhaps i am actuallly behind and need to move forward?

both of you put good points across. It's like first time round hard trance got produced they did it perfect...

Yes it must differ, but i think generally people who are into the scene move together. Even if it is in seperate ways.
Since about a year ago ive moved in two different ways, one more uplifting and the other towards hardstyle. But lately i have been looking at more hard trance, i really love this sound.

But back to the point, i dont think there is a behind or forward really?

In my opinion, a dj must spin what he loves and also what the crowd want to hear, and that isnt necesserally the newest sound. But generally thats what people are after, the next sound.

i meant behind in the sense in my mind i had found the exact sound i wanted then it seemed to suddenly change in favour of something differnt, instead of following this and seeing were it took me i still remained concentrated on the old sound now i have lost a certain amount of touch with the scene, its hard for me to explain but basically personally i think i could look forward more instead of remembering what has been.

    Have you tried Detox?

O.K., they're more tech-trance than hardtrance, and although they're certainly not end-of-night material, they cause damage. Particularly the new one by Hans Weekhout called "Shrill City".

I'm going to back Meri up here! Detox is an awesome label in my opinion. The 1st & 2nd releases were amazing! Also look out for anything by DJ Slideout, his tunes are doing it as well! Meri, that is one seriously weird avatar man!
