    Default Am I wrong?

Bought the DJ90 sampler on ebay and i thought it was cheap so i went for it. Not that i was desparate for it, but cos i thought i could sell it on for more money.

Then i got this from a discogs user.........

yo im top-trax from ebay.you won this over me in the auction last week.cant belive you bought it just to sell on.where as i actually wanted it to play in my sets and for my collection.you paid £21 and you want 45 for it? come on sort me a deal.

Am i wrong for buying something to sell on to make a profit?

    yes i think so...

you are free to do as you wish, of course, but you can understand his point.

if we all did this, then only the rich could have everything ...(oh society is already like that)

supply & demand my friend, it's the foundation of our society!

you out-bid him, simple as, whatever you do with it afterwards is entirely up to you. and he has no 'right' to buy it from you anyways so don't feel obligated.

besides, everyone does it, don't they?

just because everybody does it, does not make it right...

plenty of people throw up all over town after a night out and piss on the seats or throw litter, but it is still disgusting and wrong.

i don't disagree, but you don't buy goods from retailers at cost price because they are out there to make a profit

You have every right to buy and sell what you want, the other guy had every opportunity to outbid you in the original auction. I think he has a cheek messaging you, invite him to pay your asking price, if he declines then he can't want it that badly.
What do you think I should do if I ever grow up?

it was already beyond cost price, it's just super-inflated like so many other records and he is not a retailer. it all depends on how you look at it. if you are a businessman and that's your field, then it's a little different.

it all goes on in the world... rich gimps at old furniture auctions, picking up gems and selling on on for mega profits... and people buying so many homes and selling them so much higher and the knock on effect is clear.

it's done now. your conscience bears witness to it, if you feel guilt, then there is normally a good reason. if not, then chances are, don't worry about it.
