right, found the tape, now i just need to find someone with a cassette deck, or maybe my old one is still kicking around in the loft, will update when i've checked it

update, i've checked the tape today but it kept cutting out on the left channel, but fear not as i think it's the tape deck and not the tape itself, i'll hunt my old tape deck out of the loft and check it with that, as i know that worked fine.
