    Default Good headphones for monitoring?

As i live in a ground floor flat, pumping the system to any great volume just isn't an option so I'm looking for your trusted expert advice on some good headphones ideal for mointoring before I get the old plastic out. I know mixing and mastering in headphones isn't the ideal but it's the only deal I can work with right now so can anyone name check some decent models?? Budget is ideally in the sub £150 region but can stretch if there's anything decent I'd be missing out on.

    Cheers in advance!

    A) Just don`t. Mixing and mastering on headphones, unless you really understand the response, is utterly pointless.

Mix on good monitors at low volume, and you will get much better results.

No matter what headphones you use, the bass will not be accurate and the mid range will be decievingly up front.

Failing that, in ear monitors are the way forward!!!
I got a set of these recently and they are frighteningly good.

    Solitary by nature.
    Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?
