It`s almost as ambigious as the word Techno.

    not quite though.

    Exactly

woo wooo woo.. call the genre police!

    Wetworks, concrete djz? industrial????

I like the guys but they're NOT industrial by any means.

    Industrial? The sounds of industry.

A lot of what people are calling industrial is the sound that umek, vath, hell and almost everyone else was playing out circa 1992-1997 and that just got called techno.

Techno IS whatever people call it RIGHT NOW

Sorry man, but will you just jump down off your high horse. Everyone knows you know about industrial music, get over yourself.
Hahaha. Sunil takes a FLAWLESS VICTORY !

Or a "perfect" for the SF2 afficionados out there.

Industrial is whatever the **** you want it to be.

Just because you can't trace the roots of a project to ****ing Throbbing Gristle or bloody Birmingham (where I'm from, btw, and don't never ever hear me harping on about it) don't make it any less 'industrial'.

Not everything has to have a 'future music' production either. Who CARES if it's just pure noise, if you don't like it don't listen - why write stuff off or slag it cause it doesn't fit into your (blinkered) view of a genre.

GRRRR I hate the music 'scene' sometimes haha. What pisses me off even more are people who are 'purists' or look down on other kinds of music to their own. I love ALL good music, fact. If I like something I like it, it doesn't have to have the right 'roots' or whatever. In fact, most if not all of the music I listen to is REALLY ****ING UNCOOL and VERY COMMERCIAL. Sometimes you don't wanna fanny about in the sandpit in your garden, sometimes you wanna go to DISNEYLAND - ya get me ?

Off yaz go and pidgeonhole something else now...

I leave here, once again, more irritated than when I arrived. Sigh.
I whip on horses at the rock jam sessions. I'm a rockstar.

everyone has their own idea of what it is, and of course they're all right- what do i know? how many records do i have pressed? how many big names are playing my stuff? none, there for- i know nothing.

I think this entire thread has proved my point entirely.
Everyone has a different take on what industrial techno is.
    Apology accepted.
    Solitary by nature.
    Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

I thought it was techno made my chinese children, in china, in US sponsored slave camps.
I mean, factories of course. nothing like wearing a nice brandname threaded with the sweat of the exploited.

yeah but you can apply that across any genre/term, everyone has their own take on things. somedays people say don't pigeon hole other days people want smaller and smaller boxes.
