what a shit exscuse
if you are selling your vinyl in a few weeks
you could just rip them to mp3 from your vinyl
but clearly
you dont own any vinyl or decks
and who wants mp3s for pc mixing
when you have the real thing there
bollocks
I like vinyl, theres definately something solid about physically interacting with your medium instead of just clicking a mouse, but this doesnt mean MP3 should be discarded completely.
Ive been thinking this for a while now (and maybe this is really for the DJ forum) but I, and probaly a few others, are at a bit of a crossroads as where to go when it comes to DJ'ing.
I mean look at the options
1. 2 turntables and a mixer
2. 2 CD decks and a mixer
3. A mixture of the above
4. Traktor with a suitable interface (and probaly a controller)
5. Traktor with Final Scratch, Serato Scratch etc (which again means you need 2 decks and a mixer and your laptop, and your audio interface)
6. Ableton (which again, if your playing out, you'll need an interface and probaly a controller of some sort)
Using Ableton is definately something I'de like to check out in the future but I'de also still like to make use of my record collection.

fair play but pc mixing takes all the fun out of it for me
I'll post a pic of my setup if you want mate, or you could ask m zone, he used my setup at an event i put on earlier this year (the one where a little pikey anded up putting a wheelbrace through the window after he got knocked out by one of the door staff)!! i'm selling em cos due to work comminments and family,i haven't been on em for over 3 months! I'm starting to digitize most of my vinyl collection in the next week or so, i'm just looking for a few mp3's of some tunes i never got round to buying!!!
