I gather that most people buy their records from the web now.

Read a few threads concerning distribution companies and if I understand it correctly there is actually no need for them at all.

There's apparently no shortage of people willing to commit their tracks to vinyl. Why not have a system by which people get their own vinyl made up and online record shops submit the orders to the producers who would be responsible for keeping their own stock and doing their own dispatches?

I image this system works with ebay so why have online record shops not tried it? or have they?

If BOA had such a system and producers who committed their tunes to vinyl could use it, would it not be a boost?

Shame vinyl can't be produced to the "just in time" ethos. Conviced that the solution lies in web 2.0 application.
