Default ACID TECHNO IN 2008--Your thoughts, wishes and suggestions

Personally i think it will be a good year for Acid Techno, thinking of the upcoming BOA sub,Damaged Acid Trax,Carbon Audio Recordings from Austria just to name a few..
I´d really love to see a comeback of Highwire and Skankadelic, but i seriously doubt this is gonna happen..
Also looking forward for some fresh releases from SUF and subs and off course by Al and the FAT Collective Crew..

    More from DDR.
    More from Lawrie Immersion.
The sound to go back to it's roots.
Slow the releases down and get some quality control back.
Stop with the boring, over compressed, over filled loopy tracks.
Start making good, interesting, fu*ked up, out there acid again.

    More DDR too.
    More immersion too.
More collaborations between Dave the Drummer and KN-all of their releases are great so far.
More Bionic Orange releases in old school type.

Less "too clean" productions...in wah wah style.

And i hope Routemaster will be releasing 4-5 releases a year.

Dear santa i hope you hear this :xsmile:

Get it all back to it`s mind bending, ball busting, more minimal and twisted roots.
A comeback of Lawrie doing the early routemaster sound would be orgasmic.
Some new Pounding grooves (but less distorted, and with more funk) would be nice too.

More classic Audio Pancake type stuff.

Maybe a nice slice of the smitten glory years would go down a treat too.

I`m thinking more stuff like, What is soul?, Acilod, Hardwood, Lock, Roland abuse.

a touch slower, big chunky acid lines that fill the mix.
    No crappy overcompressed uberschall loops.

Add DDR getting back on the twisted, scarey dark acid, and I`ll be a happy bunny.

    Solitary by nature.
    Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

Simply put, it needs to get back to the old skool, and quick sharp.

2008 will be a vintage year for acid i think :)
ill even be getting my act together with regards releases...
ive been playing my sets out lately and feel confident enough to release now
i think acid will evolve(or re-evolve) into a more minimal and fatter sound
at a slower tempo....135 is great for constructing funky and fat sounding tunes.
Do what thou will...if you know what i mean?

100% agreed. I have the feeling that the veteran London producers have different tastes now, and that the scene in general needs a change in direction. The side effect of doing slower, funkier tracks is that the tunes will get mixed in with sets outside of Acid techno, and maybe will help bring acid back.

I'm still dreaming of some hybrid of Acid and the intelligent (oh dear, did I just use that word) music from Extrawelt, Petter, Trentemoller, etc.. Some of the tunes released by these artists have achieved the headtrip of good Acid without needing a 303 pinned at max.

It's not all about the 303 in the end. But it IS about a cerebral lead that serves the same effect. Maybe it's a really distorted metallic synth. Hell, maybe it's even a human voice made to twist all around and **** with our heads.

    Experimentation and all that.

yeah, i agree...experimentation is the key...
acid and acid techno should be based heavilly around a trippy lead/bass sound, and the track should progress to a swirling trippy peak after the break down, its the anticipation of the main lead/bass line that is the main driving force behind acid and acid technos popularity, unlike techno which relies nowadays on over compression and looped patterns and beats, which in my opinion starves the genre of any soul or emotion...and ultimately has lead to the current state of play with regards record sales and the dwindling popularity of techno, its this soul or track "personality" which makes acid and acid techno so dancefloor and party friendly...think of the great classic acid tracks...they all seem to have a personality or atmosphere about them...everyone (even if they dont know it) loves a 303!!!
