    Brandon's a good man....

As for me I guess 2007 has been alrite....

Although I think 2008 will only be much much better in many ways.

    As a whole I think there's been a small increase in listeners (very small);

But I think that just leaves the doors wide open for some bright idea to push it back into the public a bit.

No matter what I'm really looking forward to the future.....

And as long as the technology exists....the musik will as well. I know that much.

    Good year for selfish reasons.

Got my first releases arranged and had hawtin play my track. Put on some great parties and made a lot of new techno friends.

Saw black dog and derrick may for the first time, and was very, very impressed. Saw the glory of the exit festival, the muddiness of glade and the enjoyable predictability of sonar.

Heard a few good tracks, bought very little new stuff though. Not that bothered to be honest, never been particularly desperate to keep "upfront" when there's so much quality stuff I've missed over the years. Anything thats new and really good will make itself known eventually. The cream always rises to the top, it doesn't have to be there straight away. And with a host of new labels and producers out there is going to take even longer for the less promoted and marketed tracks to get out there.

This is the first year I didn't buy a single piece of vinyl, and can't say I miss it.

There's talented types out there doing their thing, and techno's being pushed on lots of different boundaries. Realy looking forward to see what 2008 brings.

For myself as producer it was really a cool year!
Putting out 2 releases on Underground Liberation,
and remixing Juan Atkins & Orlando Voorn's Game One on Night Vision was such a thrilling experience.

For me as DJ I didn't played that much. But the parties I played were all great experiences. The party together with Jeff Mills in april was amazing.

Let's see what 2008 will bring us.
    OUT NOW:
    - Orlando Voorn & Juan Atkins "Game One (Ritzi Lee remix)" on Nightvision.
    - Cybernetics EP on Labrynth (Beatport release)

    OUT SOON:
    - Black Noiz on Labrynth (vinyl release)

techno didnt seem to be so much of a dirty word this year, ive seen a much more positive reaction towards the music through good attendance at nights...not just techno events either, have noticed from going to breaks nights that 4/4 dirty house/ techno is coming through in there sets and the punters go mad for it.

but on the other hand not a great year on the release front. got some good tunes but pretty much the same as 2006 maybe a little worse imo

after taking my head out my limp-ass, i've discovered some quite good techno recently. BOA Germany 17. Seema. Candy. Other bits and bobs.
I was in SUF world for too long.

    definatly changing.

tribal seems to be comin back in a more minimal form...oxia, beyer, format b, dubfire....enjoying that fer sure.

good ol' skoog seems to be at the top of his game again with his agaric stuff.

i cant get enough of henrys mutate to survive ep....

lovin the ballsy minimal Len Faki, zahn, rohr, eidolon, paco etc are puttin out.

Chris Liebing and his lable CLR, bau, ortin cam, dsp, ant, wetworks are keepin it real with the harder stuff.

just as much bad music as ever of course, but im finding some good new sounds with these guys and alot of others

i for one am stoked to see what 2008 is bringin. 07 was better than 06 in my opinion....

That track is called 'Callas' on Theory 12.2 from 2002.

On the topic of whether it's been a good year or a bad year - it's been pretty good for me. The Locked parties have been going well and we've seen a lot of new faces at the club over the year. I've managed to find plenty of good records and I'm still buying vinyl, as well as digital releases.

There have also been a other nights up north that have been putting on good techno nights, so I'm cautiously optimistic for 2008.

I think its been a good year there is so much quality out there but not from the usual suspects so its harder to find but well worth it!
On a personal note am loving being resident at the techno experiment, things are going great and the parties have been rammed which such a good crowd. So thanks to all my lot for their support and to all the North Wales crew as well who are always having it at the front with my lot ha ha.

    YES!
    That's the one!
Now if I could only find an mp3 of it!

hey ANX man thanks for the shout man, I'm working harder than ever to get Clandestine off the ground, and on VINYL, I wont fail!
Me and Brad are cooking up some nastyness for Zeitgeist, especially with his departure for Europa coming soon, we have some sassy mcfilthy burgers to throw at people soon. 2007 was a great year for techno in the sense that people kept it true to what they liked, with the market so concentrated on a few thousand people now it's like you have no choice but to keep it true to what you write. Curveballs are cool for some who have the room to move, but being yourself and true to your trademarks and what you do well will be what's poppin' for 2008 I believe.

    Not from me im afriad.

Keep your eye on the ball gentlemen. The more popular a genre is the more its likely to produce some excellent production skills (in a ratio to crap though as well)

Ive heard some genuinley superb electro-house type music (still hate th term though lol ) A lot of it borders on techno as well... of the wonky variety.

Tsk tsk - Techno is a journey not a destination.

I'm just talking about all of the crap which sounds like they tried to copey Benny Benassi...

I aint lagging on the production value...cause surely most of it is well made. However it isn't just about being technically sound...it's about being forward thinking...and as you said...taking that journey...or putting people onto it.

I really dont hear that in most elektro house. But in no way was I laggin on their studios skills. I give respect where it's due...but in creativity...that my friend we might disagree on.
