im still quite impressed with this mate, its clear you can put a melody together which a lot of people find hard especially when they first start out and theres a definite structure to the track too :) , stuff id personally do to this track :
center the bass line, your right channel isnt getting any of it so the balance needs adressing
eq, its all quite muddy at the moment with no frequencies standing out, its time to start having a go at bringing everything out into its own space, give the hats/percussion some sharpness, define the leads, you have a pretty low pad going in this track too which would benefit with some of the bottom end being taken away and perhaps a boost to the mid frequencies, finding space for everything can be made a lot easier if you alter the filter of a particular sound first, say if you have two lead sounds that are pretty much in the same sound space perhapos open one up more with its filter so it layers over, essentialy what your doing with eq anyway is filtering/boosting frequencies so it can help a lot to get them fitting together as well as possible before you even touch an eq knob.
The main thing to concentrate on imo is the ideas and the tracks themselves for now and the rest will come over time but it certinly wouldnt hurt to read up/put into practise some more technical stuff, i certinaly wish i did earlier on.
what ive found a real help is to just spend a while listening to tracks you like and trying to copy there sound, figure out how to recreate a similar effect etc listen to how the producer has decided to arrange everything and how particular elements sound together.
keep posting/sending people tracks youve done aswell as feedback is a big help i have found.
got any problems or anythin and im online msn me mate, will be happy to help if i can, im sure that goes for most people on here too :)
