    Default M_ZONE.

Jus got a tapepack off a mate of Human Traffic 2003. About 6 Mark EG sets, Cally & Juice and theres 1 M Zone tape in the pack (but not sure if its from human traffic)

Listened over the pack. Mark EG absolutely blinding. Quality tunes what we expect and great Mixing! Cally Juice also rockin it in parts with some very good scratchin'!

My point is: i stuck the M Zone tape on and to be honest ive not heard much from M Zone really. I mean i knew he wasnt the tighest of mixers and the best at beatmaching.
But ive listened over this tape, and i took into account that it was live, and the mixing is absolutely awful!
What im saying is if i would have paid good money for this event i would have been pissed off because M Zone's performance seemed lazy and the mixing wasnt acceptable.
I expect the odd beats slipping but some of the mixes are way out, not even close. He could at least make an effort on the fading but it just seems to me he slams the fader straight up fully, if the beats out, he doesnt seem to make an attempt to get them in hence pulls the fader straight down on the out-going track.
Some of the cuts, the out-going track is too high so when he slams it out there is a big cut in volume. Other tunes are mixed on the last 8 bars or something near.
Now you can immediately see the difference when you put Mark's sets on.
I thoroughly enjoyed his mixes, and can only respect the mixing. Great EQing and fading, beats in - all the lot.

It just makes me wonder how M Zone has got in the position he is!

I love you man for saying my mixing is good cause i really do care about this aspect of it all ;) ... BUT i'll always jump to MZone's defence cause he is a true pioneer of hard trance and I don't care whether he stops and starts the records - he was one of the first ppl to play trance in the UK!!!!!! I'll be honest - his mixing is not something I can get into all the time (simply cause it's different to my way of mixing eh??) but each to their own, i respect him because of it and when I listen his sets I love his track selection and that alone keeps me totally hooked

I aint kissin ass but i book mick for the enjoyment he gives to to ppl who attend my nights and tbh I love the stuff he plays!!! His mixing can be shady compared to others but each to their own!! Mick is what got me listening to hard trance and i really appreciate that.. Everybody has different style & opinions and im glad so or the clubscene would be a very stale place to be imo!!!

Yeah fair play Mark. I just think maybe more effort could have gone into his set.
But i do understand that he is a true pioneer, no doubt about it!

I dunno... for me Mick although sometimes has shaky beats, damn well brings a hard track brilliantly and so quickly. He structures his hard tracks so well that I'm totally gob smacked at the hardness of his set.

His last sat I saw at Premonition in Seaton, blew my mind... and I damn well told him afterwards too!

Mark Eg again does it for me massively, bot on a different level. I find M-Zone likes to keep it very heavy on the kick and bass side of things, where Mark can offer much more depth to the sound - good use of dark german sound and TWISTED stuff! - totally brilliant on a different level.

its all good.. and I can sit here and praise both of them forever... both have been true inspirations to me with the style, music, mixing ability and fantastic personalities.

To most people that go to hardtrance / hardstyle events they have not got a clue about mixing, as i didnt when i first started going!
m-zone is not the best at mixing but his tune selection is brillliant! this is why i think he has such a big following, i mean if he was absolutly spot on at mixing but played shit tunes would he be as big as he is !!!!...... i dont think he would.

his mixing does piss me off a bit!! for the fact he mixes the tracks out so quickly, when the best bit of the track is near the end, but again i only notice that cause i may have the track myself!!

to be honest more people that go to raves dont know nothing about mixing than people that do!!

mzone can quite easily get slagged of on this site cause we know what were on about!! but to the ordinary raver they think he is well........banging

his beats are not always spot on and as tight as a nuns crutch, but there not all that terible to the normal raving ear!!!!

this is why i think M-zone has a big following and will always be at main events!!!

An M Zone set for some reason works extremely well on the dancefloor of a club, but not on CD, tape, PC etc. Dunno why, one of life's mysteries

mzones strengh is that he plays the finest quality tunes.as sum1 has pointed out he hasnt got such a big reputation coz of his mixin ability, its about the tunes he plays which afterall is the most important thing 4 a dj. weather its the finest trance like he used 2 play at the helter skelter events,or the stompin, dark german sound he plays now mzone is still top of the tree when it comes 2 hard trance.

Yep, the one thing MZone does better than anyone is discover new & amazing tracks & sounds. I'm guessing he doesnt really care for mixing its all about getting the next track in asap to make everyone gasp even more, excellent. Not nice to listen to on tape but so what.
Although last time I heard him he was on for 2 hours and every mix was perfect I think an its the only time Ive not been able to dance because the tunes were just too good, I had to stand and listen as closely as possible.

Just imagine that every single tune absolutley gobsmacking for 2 hours an I'm picky as fck with hardtrance aswell.

    Big respect to M-Zone
