I'm just listening to Chiren - Equalize It now, this was one that I listened to a couple times to decide whether to buy it or not because I quite like it. I guess it's the high pitched vocal that puts me off personally, and the main riff that comes in at the break. It's good, just not to my taste.
A lot of the dutch stuff uses the high pitched vocal too much for me, it puts me off quite a bit, because it's something I associate with happy hardcore or hard house. I really like the Pila - History track on the Qlubtempo EP, but the vocal ruins it for me. I couldn't play it because of it. Hardstyle Masterz - Beat Diz is something that is also ruined by the vocal (for me), even the dub bizarrely has a vocal in it!
My favourite track at the moment is Deepack V Luna - Kick This Mutha ****a, which has a high pitched vocal and it's dutch, so I guess you're gonna have quite a problem trying to figure out my taste at the moment!
I do really like The Prophet's first track, a lot of the stuff i've been playing lately is the gabba sounding kind of hardstyle, but the feeling I get about that stuff is mainly that not many people are really into it, it's sort of an aquired taste, and i'm a bit concerned that no-one else really likes it that much. I've never played any of that kind of stuff in a club for pretty much the same reason.
As for my CD, go to www.only-djs.com, enter overtek in the search box and get the audio window up on Tee & Pee - Provide. Listen tothe A1 mix, this is the first track. Now search for Hard Boostok, and open the audio window on Hard Boostok - The Beginning. Listen to the A1 mix again, to hear the second track on it's own ;)
