I think the art. missed also a simple 1... when placing yer monitors left and right of ya just play a mono looped sound, not sit where u'd normaly would while mixing your tracks ... Now ask some1 2 move the speakers till u hear the same on each side.. this should even compensate the fact that u might already hear more from 1 side than the other!!

I don't know how this would stand if u play after doing above but with a fake stereo..i.e. having the same wave on the left and on the right.. Now fase invert one of the sides......if any1 gets the chance 2 try let us know what happens... in theory we'd hear nothing but Our brain and ears work in quite complex ways, also we have 2 account for room acustics!!?? :?:
