sorry danny.. thats nothing like ebm.

check out front242 for some original ebm action or VNVnation (yuck yuck yuck) for some modern trance orientated stuff. also people like pierre point and roger rotor.

its all about the arpeggiated basslines and industrial sounds.. sometimes with some lovely german accented vocals!

Man that is manky. I think i might work toward the plastic side of things, Combi Christ for example. I need to make a 2-3 minute track by friday- no pressure!

    Any more suggestions Baz?

    well combi-christ are outstanding aswell.

seriously though, check out roger rotor.. that guy does some wikid stuff.

if you like the darker side of things then theres always "imminent starvation" - quite noizy though!

loop is cool.. try get some 80's style reverb on the top kick.. and get a likewise snare in there.. loads of the old ebm stuff was like really bad 80's music

    :)

Cheers mate! i decided against this loop because I like it too much. I am working on something with it now. I have been messing with it all night and so far, this is what I have: http://rapidshare.com/files/11544187...state.mp3.html

There is a ton still to do on it, rides more bass lines, atnospheric sounds, some effect work and those god awful percs at the break. So far I'm in love with it, I haven't been this excited since "The Grind". :-)

Check out tracks by David Carretta, they are the shit! I think one of the keys is a catchy, not overly complicated, or too long metallic-y synth riff, you could try to throw in some mono-tone lyrics maybe.

His website is www.davidcarretta.com, theres a track player on his website, it plays a lot of his tunes. They inspire me, so I imagine they would do the same for you. They seriously kick ass.
