i came away from this match thinking two things:

1. russia may not be the best side left, but they are the scariest. they're faster and in better condition than anyone else, and attack with a balls-to-the-wall ferocity. on the other hand, a couple of their starters won't play the next one, so they're in some trouble if they play spain again, but they're in it as much as anyone...

2. the dutch back four were terrible. van bronckhorst, in particular, was awful.

Russia play the best football right now. Italy and Germany aren't even capable of playing like this, with this kind of attacking ferocity as slav mentioned. The ref last night was leaning heavily towards the dutch, even wanted to give Kolodin a second yellow but opted against it after consultation with the assistant and then he didn't give a clear penalty, but even after all that Arshavin pulled through and passed to torbinsky, who was a sub but still wont play in the semis cuz of two yellows, he ten scored (futsal like play). I think that every player on this Russian team will play like crazy for Gus Hiddink and even with dodgy refereeing they have the football in them to be called the best in Europe. WIll it be official? Who knows, but they proved for now that they play the best football, the prettiest football. Well done Russia

Wow is all i gotta say.

Russia were simply superb. Had the dutch on the backfoot for 120mins. It could and should have been more than 3. I have to agree with Will for a change as russia done the things the italians and french didnt do, and thats attack.

Holland simply could not cope and i was amazed at the speed the russians go forward at.

They may not win it, but watching them last nite was def the highlight of the tournament so far

That was a clear foul on Silva, Grosso stomped on his foot, the referee called it diving. Herbert Fandel sucks donkey balls.

Why is a german refereeing an Italy match anyway? Imo, Uefa, disgraceful.
