i came away from this match thinking two things:

1. russia may not be the best side left, but they are the scariest. they're faster and in better condition than anyone else, and attack with a balls-to-the-wall ferocity. on the other hand, a couple of their starters won't play the next one, so they're in some trouble if they play spain again, but they're in it as much as anyone...

2. the dutch back four were terrible. van bronckhorst, in particular, was awful.
