the dmx 6 fire comes highly rated, but their is also the audiophile 24/96 at a fraction cheaper. its dedicated to music & comes with 4ins 4 outs incl breakout lead. as with the dmx 6 fire this card also comes highly rated.

I reckon 80% of the times having 1 stereo I/O is more than enought so I'll recomend a proper pro card....

I've got the DMX 6fire 24/96 and had 100% satisfaction. A really good card. I use my computer for more than just music production so it has come in really handy in that sense.

i'm gonna spend some money on sound card, too. I thought about dmx6.
It has full support 4 asio 2.0, so it should have low latency. 96/24 is useless 4 me cuz i have no dat recorder.:) also there is no music studio around my town:)
    cheers

why do u say U need a DAT... Most DATs I know rarelly do more than 48 Khz, 16 bit!

All U need is a CD burner, u can even take yer wav/ Aiff file 2 the studio!

I won't say much about the Terratec 'cause I don't know much about it but still is not much more than a good "consumer level" product, RME rocks anytime, anyday.. u can master from it's analog out, the sounds is Pro level/ quality!!

Ive always liked the 1010LT, although the cable breakout is pretty crazy, it can work better than the 1010 w/ breakout box because very few people really need just the TRS connectors.

IMO, no,you can't do 24/96 Wav on a sound card with the highest resolution 16/44.1.
