im just saying, sign the track as it is.
i know a few guys who left and all of them left because someone went into a fight with them over nothing and was pretty unpleasant. witnessed a few of those too.to be honest a lot of them left because they were elitist and couldnt accept the fact that people liked something that they didnt.
first of, do u know what "monkey sphere" is?first you shouldnt have been insulted, no need. but you're calling sampling stealing. whether or not the sampling is creative or not, its still sampling.
you yourself said that its ok to sample from differant genres, is sampling from a differant genre stealing aswell? if so you seem to condone it, if not why is only sampling from techno/dance stealing? (i hope you can see my confusion on this issue)
second, as i already explained, sampling from other genres has a punk quality to it. from what i know in the beggining the whole electronic scene had a big "**** you" attitude towards everything else so sampling from other genres came a bit natural. but then again, i dont remember someone taking the main ****ing theme, making it his own theme and calling it his own song. take fatboy slim for example. most of his songs are based on cut up pieces of old funk records. he cuts it up and takes the whole thing out of context, does some heavy processing and editing and it turns out as a completely different thing than the original (in which the sample is just 5% of the song).
electronic music is very minimal. if u take the MAIN THEME and use it as UR MAIN THEME with different beats - its a bootleg, not ur own song.
and..?try to remember that microdot, krimewave and ig technician have done a lot of tracks together on the player label thru the years and essentially thats the particular style we're debating here.
