i got a bit pissed off with storm a while back at a hardcore heaven cause a ****ing tune would just about to kick in and the music kept stopping for him to have a shout.......GRRRRRRRR
this is exactly the reason why i need to go to other places other than london.
It all depends on the style of the mc....I agree that most of the mc out there today ramble on about nonsence over the top of some really good tunes.
That sort of thing works with hardcore and dnb but sounds really shit over Hard Trance and Techno. The way I look at my mc'ing is, i'm a raver I like the music and I want to listen to it, I don't want to be chatting shit all through a set because then I cant enjoy the tune selection a dj is playing.
I feel that my roll as an mc is just purley to add and extension to the atmosphere already created by the dj and hype people up just a little bit more. I mean you take Ribbz for example, he dosent say alot but when he does it sounds good. Then on the other side of the scale you have some-one like storm or wotsee who are very lyrical and good at what he does but that sort of thing doesn't work to trance and techno but goes well with hardcore. So I keep my mc'ing slightly minimal to go with the style of the music I am mc'ing to. I have my momements where I rhyme a bit but not over the top so as to spoil the music. My rhymes (if you can call them that) last for about two sentances thats all.
I respect everyones views on mc's, you either love them or hate them and thats life. And I respect anyone who has the balls to get up and chat down a microphone.
