Yes, they've churned it out too much and now release complete and utter throwaway crap, it's a shame as they are more than capable of making great techno. As for it being hard to keep it original and so on, there's a simple answer! Don't release every five minutes.. don't re-produce your 'winning formula' for every track. These guys are worse than Marco Bailey.

I'm still interested in Potential as a label though, there's new Godfather and Assault mixes of Martyn Hare that I'm looking forward to hearing.

Ignition Technician production wise have gone right down hill, they peddle out such boring works!!!

i simply dont class it as techno and its such a shame because Wilko and Pete are both really talented and wikid guys

I ways include them in the stack when I'm buying tunes but as yest they've never made it onto the 'yes' pile. recently I have had to specifically ask, they used to be occationally suggested by mr. shop-keep - but I used to be like that with Drumcode and now Bayer really gets my heart thumping.

but if was looking TI stuff, what is worth a listen?

we are giving our honest opinion on something here, i dont see the problem, i could if people were being childish and saying they hate them, but were not

i still like some of their stuff, although i admit its not up their with the early stuff they did. and to be fair they have been making party techno from day one, and still continue to do so. the only thing thats changed is that they seemed to move on from the filthy, dark sound they knocked out, and moved into a groovier house sound. the party edge still lives on though.

no i didn't start this post to say they're crap, i started it to provoke some discussion about it all. i think they're missing a whole section of sound in their tracks. they seem so empty.

i remember seeing these guys live in liverpool a couple of years ago, it was excellent but now ive just took a listen to the newer stuff i have to agree its not in the same league as the older productions

i think their recent stuff is o.k. actually
it's quite funky and light but i like the basslines
and the warmth of the sound they go for.

maybe not the best records in the world but they do work at the right times, i always have one of theirs kicking around just in case the hard stuff just isn't doing it or i need to start off a little funkier.

i say it aint too bad
but then i would say that as i've just swapped remixes with them

so we'll see how that goes eh???
