http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=415290964
now compare these:
Shlomi Aber - State Of No One (Shlomi Aber deep dub) vs Basic Channel - Phylyps Trak II/II
quite similar, eh?

both sound like a rip off of G-man circa 5 years ago to me anyway...
Ok.. sorry... jumped the gun a bit... didnt even register it was basic channel till after i posted... it says "Released: 30 June, 2008", obviously a re-release then... just read the story on shlomi now... looks like he has struck again then... It is very similar to El Jem on this Ep also, http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/269333-01.htm . annoys me to see the same ideas blatently being replicated. really dilutes it for me.
its just the same minor chord!! well in ur example john it is. the other one isnt too much of a ripoff. there must be about 10 tracks with the exact same chord in it. loads of carola stuff had it too.
edit.. the sholmi one is pretty cheeky!

Who Cares It Is The Music That Matters Innit?!
So. Behind their eyes the hope in them was sickening, and in many, dead. They lived from event to event with a subtle terror of the gap between, filling up their lives with distractions to avoid the emptiness where curiosity should have been, and breathing a gasp of relief when the children passed the point of asking questions about what life was for.

no offence to anyone, this is just my bastardised opinion but they both sound like cack.

erm...
anyway, i know a lot of things are repeated in the techno world. i remember some old samuel l. sessions tunes that were straight up ripoffs of purpose maker stuff (don't ask me what they were, i didn't bother buying them at the time). this shlomi thing is fairly reminiscent of phylyps II, but i think it prolly wouldn't have warranted a mention if it weren't seemingly a pattern. that is the more annoying part.

I'm just not really a fan of that kind of techno, I admittedly hold my hands up to being a complete filistine.
