Coming back from the slumber of early retirement, the ES (nee EC) copywriter gets ready to tell you all about the reborn Electric Shock....It's a Christmas cracker of Frank Carson proportions with our first event in the Twisted Pepper. Electric Shock takes over two floors with with one of our favourite long-standing guests, Steve Rachmad setting up to wake you up from your selection-box induced coma with some driving techno downstairs. There's surely no need to try & re-cap what Steve Rachmad is all about (the relief! ES editor) suffice to stay, his music through the years is some of the most timeless techno and electro ever made. Pouring the Zubrovka to start the night down there is returning prodigal resident, Simon Conway, with a special italo-free (!) set of deep electro traxxx.
Upstairs we have M-nus heart throb, Heartthrob playing a live set of some of the classiest minimal sounds around. It's been good year for Jesse Siminski with the 'Dear Painter, Paint Me' album and 'Signs' 12" both sitting in the 'My Downloads' folder of many's the DJ across the continent. A big fan of the paint of porter, it's pleasure to have the man back in the ES fold. Also playing upstairs are the men like Dan Power & Eddie Brennan who, with a combined age of over 60 (work it out for yourselves), will be tucking into some Xmas sherry from 11 o'clock onwards. It's machines and files and computers upstairs and vinyls and cd's downstairs - winner takes all and we'll sort it out in the Cuckoo's on Sunday.
