Thing I dont get, is why people are so bothered about it.
It's only a personal award, it's not an actual trophy.
Don't think anyone could argue that he doesn't deserve some kind of recognition for being the absolute model footballer throughout his career.
I think his fellow professionals voted for him this year because of how well he's played considering the fact people thought he was finished.
He's also performed well in every position he's been asked to play this season, including the holding role in midfield a couple of times.
He's certainly been the difference between gaining all 3 or just 1 point for Utd on several occasions.
If we really wanted to be argumentative about who should win it, I reckon Rooney should have had it for the last 4 seasons on the bounce tbh, as he is (with the possible exception of Gerrard) the most important player to his team out of anyone in the league.
