    Thumbs up Favourite Record Shops

After mostly using BangingTunes for many years I was saddened by its recent demise. Thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for record shop links - after all if we don't use them, we lose them. These are the others I use:

    http://www.juno.co.uk
    http://www.kinetec.com
    http://www.chemical-records.co.uk

    Anyone else got any recommendations?

That sentiment is exactly why I use a physical record shop for most of my purchases - http://www.myspace.com/spindizzyrecords

You get to talk to someone behind the counter, get recommendations you'd never happen upon through an online store and you can go home and listen to your records the same day you purchase them.

+1 for local record shops when it comes to vinyl. I'm quite blessed theres 2 shops where I live so I don't need to go online for new stuff:

    &

    http://www.vinylunderground.co.uk/

If its old stuff then its discogs.

thanks! your ds2points are in the post boys ;)

+1 for physical shops too, use or lose forever!

for anyone wanting free records we now add 1 x ds2point ( = 5p ) for every review published on the site. that might not sound alot but it soon adds up when combined with points earned on purchases.. you can add reviews by viewing the product detail page on any title @ www.ds2shop.co.uk

here in Los angeles we really have nuthing anymore.... just like only 1 mediocre record stores that sell crap (a bunch of used junk that nobody wants). Its sad.... Back in the 90's we had a bunch of really good record stores but one stood out as the GREATEST record store. That was HIGHER SOURCE RECORDS but it went down under about 5 years after it opened.... They had infinite amounts of techno and acid techno... I swear it was heaven on earth. Til this day i still dream that im record shopping there like back in the days.... This place was the mother of all record shops. Every time i went there i came out with about 30+ records and an empty wallet but with a smile.
