Virgil Enzinger is really doing it for me at the moment. Ridiculously hard beats- everything I would like ot be and more production wise. Simply mind blowing.

Not really minimal though is it.
It`s full of old regis n surgeon etc tricks, overcompressed and doesn`t really use the minimal ethic of taking every part and taking it back to it`s essence.
Ezinger is just normal techno techno really innit, birmingham style.. Nice, but dated, lots of old used sounds, and nothing new.

huh? Really? I find his stuff incredible- granted there is a lot that you could only call techno- but I think the slower more spacious stuff would fall under the minimal brolly. The swing patterns, wicked glitchy little rhythms etc...?

maybe my definition of minimal is waaaaaay off!

    How about Alex Bau's work?

I don`t think it`s bad, but it isn`t really minimal. It doesn`t really follow the ethic. The sounds are a little overcrowded and conventional, and the sounds seem over maximised.

Yeah I think Bau seems to understand the ethic a bit more.
He does seem like someone who is trying to make minimal but still trying to use an old format to do it.

You reckon? Hmmm... then I am way off. So really, what I'm into at the moment isn't minimal- just slow dark techno type stuff.

How about Robert Babicz? I have been listening to his stuff all day. Can't get enough of it actually.
