My roommate has the whole Mathew Jonson discography.
This track is just pure genius.

He's known as the "dj who was the most mispelled in the whole history of techno music".

That's all I can find about this guy.

First head this played at sonar, was pretty much the last tune of the closing set by hawtin in the vast arena outside. He messed around with the bass loads, made it sound a lot more menacing and driving. People went nuts.

    Sublime track.

and as for the link to the album.. i LOVE melodies like those in 'Saturday night' - that's what i call minimal... reminds me of random logic from back in the day... how the hell do you make melodies like that anyway??

haha dude.. juno is messed up.

the track that I called lime in da coconut (on my mp3 version of the album)
is what juno has mistakenly called Saturday Night.

So we're on the same page ;)

and yeah.. I imagine it involves an arpeggiator and an lfo slapped onto a filter.. but there may be some other things going on too heh

Also .. you probably have to be in a certain mental state to even come up with that sorta of awesomely quirky melody in the first place :D

But yeah I love those kinds of melodies too. Proper abuse of a synth.

Mark - I think you'll particularly like Typerope... It's pure Detroit - deep, soulful, emotional:

This guy has been getting seriously hyped for years - you are behind the times my friend ;)

Try the itiswhatitis range or his releases on wagon repair - you will love them mate.

He's well worth catching live, technically brilliant and very 'real' if you get me.

His release on M_nus is also pretty dope....

He also done some sort of thing which sounds a bit like Hakan Lidbo or Akufen, I'll try and remember what that was as it's a bit different from his usual stuff , much more of a Mylo/retro feel but pimped up x10.

To my ears in places he sounds a wee bit 'cheesey' in places but he gets inside you and worms around till he's comfy and then you've got no chance other than to ride constant waves of pleasure as he gently strokes ur G-spot from the inside out ;)
