    Default <Acid Pro 4.0 Top Tips>

What are you favourite tips for Acid?

My main one is to use Acid 1.0 for your 1 beat stuff cause the auditioning is much easier and then pop it into Acid 4 to finish off.

    What's everyone elses top tips??

Don't use it just before you have to have dinner with your parents.

I use it a fair bit, but always for very straightforward stuff, so don't really have any particularly interesting tips or anything. However, this is not very usefull, but can be amusing, the beatmappper is quite good, and can be used to make some amusing megamixes/mashups with hardly any effort required...

Some of my friends use it to make some impressive tunes. (Acid+Reason)

U can use the latest version (4.0f) to rewire Reason to it, or use any VST instrument. That really expands its usability.

I find it cool to plug Redrums each channel into the Reason Hardware interface and use quality DX effects on some of them.

Cubase SX2 is much better, but also more complex. You can do just about anything you need for techno in Acid.

Acid is also great doing quick remixes, or you can beef up your existing track by beatmapping it and throwing some loops over it to fill it up more.
for eg. some of my tunes were ok, but needed some harder kicks. Unortunately the project files were lost, so I pulled the master into ACID and layed a track of hard kick over it. That did it for me.

i use it for studio work exclusively as all i produce loop techno built for dj use.

when i start writing trax in their own right for the musical content, Cubase will be the next step.

tips ? dunno. always use the buses ?
