not really all dubstep but what I call dubstep - dark electro bass stripped back stuff

    ARTISTS
    scorn
    warlock
    blackmass plastics
    gunjack
    scanone
    some aaron spectre
    boxcutter
    controlled weirdness
    the wee dj's

    LABELS
    rag and bone
    combat recordings
    dirty needles
    rottun recordings
    coin operated records

i dont get the caspa / rusko / benga / scream stuff, dubstep lite if you ask me.

anyone heard this .... never thought I'd like a Thom Yorke track, ****ing radiohead, miserable cunts, this is beautiful though.

    Red face

I just went back to read the argument earlier on
bloody hell lads! keep it down some of us are trying to sleep.

anyway I did a bit of a dubstep experiment recently with Technologic
It was great fun and I'll be dong a bit more soon too.
I'm sure it sounds crap to all you real dubstep guys but I don't care
I'm just getting started with it anyway.

check it out if you like

by the way the entire track was made by manipulating just one kick drum.
Al's idea and we got a lot out of it.

Dubstep has morphed and developed so quickly there are loads of substyles coming out of london now.

The big gnarled up wobbly stuff is kinda like the mainstream cheese equivalent of clippity clopp minimal, but if you dig deep there`s some stuff that is pushing forward, new sounds, slippy beats, big textures.

    here's a track i'm digging right now...has kind of a detroit-meets-south-london vibe to it.

    Shed "Estrange" (Ostgut Ton)

The law is not the private property of lawyers, nor is justice the exclusive province of judges and juries. In the final analysis, true justice is not a matter of courts and law books, but of a commitment in each of us to liberty and mutual respect. - Jimmy Carter

It's calm, sophisticated and has a nice beat to it towards the end.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of this stuff as a frontier for dubstep or heavy energetic dubstep....

    Mala - Eyez

Deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember (Caspa Remix) - and this to a lesser degree but with great vocals.

Lots of new stuff can be found at http://www.getdarker.com/home/ but I'm always eager to hear other frontier, boundry breaking dub.
