Plymouth - UK
With marjority of students being dragged into the Drum N Bass and Hip hop sence, which I also enjoy, it leave not so much room for techno IMO. Clubs are overdosed with students flavour and most bang bang punters go to the Monopoly club Dance Academy for their trance, okay Mark Eg comes every now and then to shape up some techno beats.
Just before I left for Amsterdam we had Glenn Wilson doing a Live Pa for Oorpi, and OBI djign as well. Five Shades of techno you can catch the legenery Dougie, who is monster of a dj, he singlehandedly forced me to keep up my skills.
I played at a lot of free parties around the Moor (One of the few national park in the UK), the site is surreal and the sunrise would just shift you into third gear and the police are always there to chat looking after the crew rather than shutting parties down.
I will leave Exeter and surrounding for Si the Sigh.
Eric.
