    Default scratching

was having this debate with some last night at the grove, when wragg and xcess were doing their thang ! personally i dont mind hearing a bit, but the type of scratches that can be pulled of live to such fast music is somewhat limted, and its get a bit anoying ! what does eveyone else think ?

I think in can work in a hard trance dj set but if only if done efficiently !! some dj's cant scratch and make an arse some do it beautifully.

I couldn't handle the scratching in X-Cess & Wragg's set to be honest, fair play to em, but I went and watched Hashimi in the other room...

its got its place, but not in hard dance imo!!!

When done right, and in reserved quantities its class, but to hear a dj scratch over it for no real reason... pisses me off when djs go scratch and fx happy these days!

I think YES...In moderation. Theres nothing wrong with trying to do something different. It can sound awesome in places. I can see it being over done in a set though. I enjoyed DJ Wragg & DJ Xcess's set at The Grove. It said on the flyer "a scratch battle" so you knew what you were going to get, something a bit different. And anyway, "what is a DJ if he can't scratch?" as the old track says... ;)

Sequence is coming. It's going throughout your imagination. It takes you where you've been before. A higher state of mind. Yeah, you remember the early times. Now were trying to take you again. In the deepest seas of your consciousness.....Time never stops

Hey you lot, you need to chill out a bit with the slagging dj's off. there is alot more to djin than just playing records you know, fair enough the scratching was pretty poor on fri but that was due to a shit mixer and equiptment set up. we were asked to perform a scratch battle and thats what we did to the best of our abbility under terrible conditions. sorry if we upset anyone but i have to mention that we regulary get booked off the back of our scratching and there usually isnt any complaints.i personally like to see dj's trying something a bit different but i understand that done wrong it can sound BAD!!! so please blame the sound engineer/club and not us...........
