    Default headphone help plz...

hey,,i wanted to get some feedback from the ppl in this forum concerning a new set of headphones bec of the music that u guys play and i know u guys have a lot of experience,,,,i have been using a broken pair of sony 700's for a while and want to get a quality pair,,,,i tend to play a lot of tracks w/ very heavy and often distorted bass,,,the 700's r pretty good w/the bass but i was wondering does anyone know of a pair that r less bulky than the pioneers or sonys but maintain the bass level?? esp for when ur playing out and on diff systems --- i have always tended to bend my head to the left side and usually always have the headphone kinda on my shoulder but dont want to do this anymore bec i am afraid of bad posture and arthritis in the future,,,plus it gets uncomfortable,,,,,,SO i was thinkin to get a pair that r much lighter but has strong crispy bass -- and try keeping the actual phone on my left ear for the most part --- so my head can be straight...

its hard to really get a good feel for a new pair of headphones listening in a store...

any feedback would be super appreciated,,thanx :)

im a huge fan of Sennheiser HD200 http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...Product_ID/248

light, closed back & great sounding. theres so much less headphone to deal with. got a pair of Sonys which are good for studio work but theres too much headphone round my neck & theyre way too heavy...

i play Wittekind, Amok etc, so i know these things can handle bass.

next cans i'll be trying are the new Behringer http://www.topdjgear.com/behpdjhe.html
only £25... ive got a rake of Behringer outboard & used a few of their desks in live sets & i know thses gotta be good for the money

i find Sennheiser bass a lot tighter. not as muddy as the Sonys.

but i think thats preference more than fact. easily checked by comparing the frequency range on each

Have a look at the closed AKG K271. They block 25db of background noise which is great for clarity to what's happening with the incoming tune and are some of the best isolating headphones on the market. They sound sound great too with lots of warmth to the bass and very differentiated mid and hi range. I personally use open Sennheiser 565's because they've lasted me so long - but if I was buying now then i'd get the K271s

Not all is lost if your sony's are spliting, I presume around the cup pivot. If you can locate some small plastic wire ties and tighten around the split area you should be able to have trouble free operation again. Certainly don't look too crash hot but I can't afford new handphones so I make do with the mod.

    sorry m8.
but AKG is a typical studio headphone.
it sounds linear... for a dj headphone you need a lot of feedback.
