well this was a very, very strange and unexpected experience. imagine the senario - you get an enquiry for a club that you wouldnt expect to get booked for. after some thought you do it - you think you wanna get ppl on board who you wouldn't usually play in front of. after the flyer comes out some ppl are telling you that you should never have taken the booking. even on this forum ppl are tellin me 'it's full of cybers'.

so i arrive. sure it looks very, very posh as we pull up to the event. i get inside. yeah, it's a very clean venue - nothing stinks of piss. but it is sweaty, it is hot and there's ppl smiling - and dancing. i only saw the one room - the one i was in - and immediately i see a low ceiling, a packed dancefloor and the ppl on it are not cyber, there's not the shirt and tie brigade i expected but they do look like a pretty up for it crowd. obviously there's ppl in here who had definitely washed in the morning i thought. but it reminded me of so many other types of crowds i've played to in the rave scene over the years - except the music was more hard house. to me it was nothing new. it really wasnt.

so i did my thing. and i gave it my all. i played my little heart out. sure it wasnt half as good as playing to a dirty warehouse full of ppl who want to stay till tuesday morning but i felt like i'd achieved something and enjoyed it.

i didn't see the main room - i only saw my room but to me that's another 40 ppl that might actually come to some small underground night in a small northern town somewhere one day and see the true party vibe.

i was very surprised i really was. i'm pleased with what happend this weekend - although if they'd have all followed me down to antiworld they'd have all had a god damn blinder. hahahaha.
