he;s always been prone to temporary lapses of taste

hence the vocal in this otherwise awesome classic track

the idea is interesting, but the second video is kind of embarrassing. the man is a legend, but he does have bad ideas here and there.

He played a 5hr set at Chibuku in Liverpool years back. I got there at the start and he was playing coffee bar jazz. I went off to see other DJs, but kept coming back to that room every half hour or so to see if he'd picked it up. It was literally 2.5 hours before he was playing anything with a proper 4/4 beat... I was pretty surprised tbh. He played some airy-fairy house for a while, then had about a half hour of techno before going off on a tangent again. I was not impressed!!!

about a decade ago, i'd have said the guy was one of the best djs you could ever hear. no one did the marathon set better.

but i haven't heard him spin for about 8 years, and don't know if that's the same, or changed.

but i highly recommend the 2x cd mix "the laboratoire mix" for anyone curious about mr. garnier at the height of his powers.

I can honestly say that I was never into anything of his. Don't get me wrong he made some decent enough tracks but it was all a bit meh for me really.

What he's doing there in the vids is cool. I like the idea of it but for a Techno fest? nah, I would steer clear. You could see the confusion on the faces of the people in crowd in the first vid.
