Probably about 14 when promoters like Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and Dance Planet started putting techno sets in their tape packs.

Don't produce, so can't answer the second question :P

When I was about 12 evryone in my year started to listen to hardcore and collect flyers, then a few years later I started to listen to more free party sort of tunes like Wippenberg and Commander Tom and bought my first real Techno record i about 1995 or 96 ( it was a planetary assualt systems on peacefrog)

Have only been producing for about 6 months really but have had equipment since 97 when I started sound engineering at Salisbury college and then Music Technology after that.

I got into Techno in the early 90's but before that I was a Hip-Hop DJ from 85-88 then moved into House until House went tits up in 91.
I have been producing since 97 and running "Jackstar recordings" since July 2002.

    I'm 34 this year.

    Default where we came from...

    Turned 29 very recently!

Started producing more seriously around 95.

    I decided that I wanted 2 b a Dj at the age of 8!

been thru, tape slicing, pause tapes, decks with no pitch.. bla bla... went later on into early rap/ early electro/ break dance/ etc... but it was kind of hard 2 find electronic stuff in Portugal and only 2 clubs started playing some more electronic stuff around 88... Plus I was a kid, so not easy 2 have money 4 records and 2 b able 2 get into clubs! :(

got my 1st technics @ the age of 14-15... (b4 I had some really crappy 1s, where the pitch was my index finger lol :P )...

    that's it really.

    Default oldskool

was listening to front 242, einstreuzende neubauten, skinny puppy, meatbeat manifesto etc. in the late 80s. techno was a natural transition.

I'm a techno-youngin'. I began listening to techno three years ago when I was 17. I discovered that it was absolutely the most enjoyable genre to rock out to on the dance floor. I haven't been the same since then.

I loved old skool for a while when i was 15/16 then i was taken to atomicjam when i was 16. Ive pretty much liked techno since then but its more of a lifestyle now than anything. I live and breathe techno. i sometimes even dream about it
