I'll have to search it out.
I did listen to your set Mark, it seemed to really kick up at approx 17 mins.
Most of the material before that point I would have considered minimal to my untrained minimal ear.
Even artists that I looked to before have slowed it down quite a bit.
To the point where I don't consider it Hard, just more moody so to speak.
Now mind you, the speed doesn't make it hard, but some bpm's like 134 don't exactly get me feeling aggressive, or make me want to get the headnodding.

Sure is more "harder" stuff now then how it's been for some years. But yea the tempo is slowed down. I slowed down a lot personally but have released many banging tunes since last year again, and more to come, even if I do lots more then just Techno these days. Just think we gotta accept the slower tempo :D I know some really neat stuff is going on in the biz, Heroes & Punish return will be a killer.

what advent and industrialyzer are doing is whats getting me excited about hard techno again. I personally abandoned it when they stopped caring about sound quality....anyone can make a devastating kick drum with a bunch of mud around it...which seemed to be the main part of most tracks coming out for a while.

and anything above 135 is just too much for me nowadays (my younger self would be dissapointed) and even thats pushing it.....i also like to see girls on the dancefloor. girls are cool. i might get flamed for this but whatever....145bpm hard techno = cockfest...in nyc at least. maybe in a european fest its different.

I wouldnt say the advent and the industrialyzer are hard techno - more like techno/minimalish that is dark and moody. - they are both superb tho

I want pounding glen wilson style stuff back on the go - like the hereos series - now that shiit was the business.

    Justin, hilarious you said that.
I remember I took shorty to Guernica a few years back, and she was the typical Bensonhurst Exit girl and she saw Hawtin and Magda back and forth and her first response was look at all the herbs in here and we bounced...

    Kinda explains it all rite?

guernica......damn lol. the first time i played out ever was there in like 02. the whole JP crowd is on another level....they're completely seperate from the edm scene in NY. Right now.....hard techno doesnt exist at all. BlkMarket throws the best techno parties but its all more stripped down techno, minimal, tech house etc. I would like to say some of the djs they book play hard.....but my definition of hard is way off apparently. They do pull mad chicks...classy ones......in dresses even lol, and theyre mostly thrown in warehouses on some old school sh*t.....with bangin sound always....full makeshift bars, portapotties...... Im good with that ;)

@ Overfiend - I listened to a few of your releases the other day, and the real standout track for me was "Blueprint to Revenge." You got any suggestions for other tracks of yours in a similar style?
